Designed to be mixed with chemical weed sprays, Weed Spray Enhance on its own is not a weed killer but increases the efficiency and can speed up delivery of chemical herbicides.
This is due to the small molecule size of some of the active ingredients in the product which binds with the herbicide and enables it to enter through the stomata of the leaf.
Weed Spray Enhance increases and aids the transportation of the chemical weed spray into the weed and can suppress re-growth up to twice as long as weed spray alone.
Weed Spray Enhance is a highly efficient chelating agent due to some of its components having a high CEC of up to 1400, it also increases the permeability of plant membranes achieved by cell-sensitising agents which results in the improvement in the efficiency of herbicides.
Weed Spray Enhance can take on board chemicals like glyphosate and use the small molecule and increased permeability to efficiently transport it into the plant, which can result in an improvement in uptake from about 30%, effectively meaning that you can reduce the input of weed killer by the same amount while still achieving the same kill rate.
Many soils are suffering from reduced microbial activity which means that even the most biodegradable chemicals do not rapidly break down, Weed Spray Enhance acts as food source and energizer for soil biology that scarce populations of microbes are drawn to, so that when the Herbicide and Weed Spray Enhance Mix reaches the soil, the micro-biology responsible for its breakdown are drawn to it providing an increased biodegradability where the herbicide is broken down into simpler compounds, converting the herbicide into harmless substances.
The detoxifying quality of Weed Spray Enhance not only works with the herbicide added to it, but it continues to bind to and aid in the breakdown of most organic and inorganic pollutants and toxic residues that have built up in the soil over time.
