Frequently Asked Questions

For home Garden

What’s the difference between our products?

DCT Lazerhume is the key and can be found as a not-so-secret ingredient in all our products, but it also works great on its own if you want a purely organic garden.

DCT Garden we have added Seaweed and Nitrogen, to give the plants an extra boost.

DCT Lawn, we have added Seaweed, Nitrogen, and Ferrous Sulphate to help give the grass an enviable green and to help with controlling moss.

  • Nitrogen is super important and needed for plant growth. It is found in healthy soils, and gives plants the energy to grow, and produce fruit or vegetables.

  • Seaweed helps with plant growth, It provides many benefits to plants including to promote stronger, healthier plants. It also helps with the vibrancy of the flower, and quality of the crop.

  • We use Ferrous Sulphate in our lawn product to help further enhance the green of the grass and to protect against moss

Is it a concentrate?

Yes, all our products are concentrated and need to be added to water before being applied.

Can I add it to a seaweed mix I make up?

You sure can, our products are compatible with most things but remember some of our products already contain Nitrogen, Ferrous Sulphate and Seaweeds so just be careful not to add to much.

Can I put Lazerhume on the lawn?

Absolutely you can, in fact we encourage it, you might also want to check out our Lawn product, its made specifically for lawns as it contains a few extras to grow healthy grass and help with moss control. (DCT Lawn also contains Lazerhume)

What is Humic/Fulvic?

Humic Acid and Fulvic Acid come from humates.

Humates are an organic substance created through the decomposition of plant tissues that have been broken down over many thousands of years in the earth’s soil in a natural process called humification. It’s an organic material sourced from leonardite or lignite brown coal (not to be confused with hard black coal).

Because of the nature of humates, sources of this base material vary depending on its the origin and age , which is why we choose our materials based on their quality, composition, Humic, Fulvic content and amount of micro and macro nutrients contained in it.

I applied killer compost to my garden, can you help?

We have had some great results with people using Lazerhume in the same situation.

What we would recommend is that you use 1 litre of Lazerhume mixed in 10 litres of water and apply in a spray covering the affected compost and soil at a rate of one litre of mix to one square meter, then water it in with a sprinkler or hose this is just to aid moving the product from the surface through into the compost and down into the soil , apply every week for at least 6 weeks. you don’t have to be too accurate, Lazerhume is a safe product.

at this rate don’t apply to foliage.

  • Killer compost is a term given to compost, soil and manure mixes that contain high enough levels of herbicides or other contaminants to negatively affect non-target garden plants, some symptoms of killer compost are signs of curling leaves and stunted growth.

Will it kill weeds?

None of our products are weed killers as such but generally, weeds are an indicator of your soil's health and are a symptom of a unhealthy soil.

If you have areas of one kind of weed, your garden is trying to tell you something.

For example, weeds with deep taproots indicate compacted soil lacking in water, air, and nutrients.

All DCT products contain in them an ingredient that works to repair the health and balance of the soil so that weeds become less and less as the soil restores to a healthy system.

DCT products won’t directly kill your weeds but they will repair the soil so that weeds are less likely to grow.

Will it stop dog urine spots?

DCT Lawn as well as all DCT Garden products can help reduce the damage caused by dog urine on grass by neutralizing the alkaline pH of the urine. When dogs urinate on grass, the high levels of nitrogen and alkaline pH can burn and kill the grass.

DCT lawn helps to buffer the pH of the soil thus reducing the harmful effects of the urine.

Additionally, DCT lawn can improve the soil structure and increase its water-holding capacity, which can also help to reduce the effects of dog urine on grass.

You dont need to apply to the spot, if you apply the DCT product over your whole lawn its there and working when and where your little buddy decides to go. depending on your lawn it may take a few applications before you notice a difference.

Can I use it on Citrus?

Yes!

For Citrus we would recommend DCT Garden but if you have some Lazerhume that would be of benefit as well by improving soil structure, increasing nutrient availability, enhancing root growth, and stimulating microbial activity.

Both DCT Garden and DCT Lazerhume can help citrus plants absorb nutrients more efficiently, which can lead to better growth and yield and help citrus plants become more resistant to stressors such as drought and disease.

The extra Nitrogen added to DCT Garden can further help citrus trees by providing them with a crucial nutrient that is important for growth and development. Nitrogen is a key component of chlorophyll, the green pigment that helps plants convert sunlight into energy through photosynthesis. Citrus trees that receive sufficient nitrogen are better able to produce healthy leaves and branches, and are more likely to yield a larger crop of fruit.

However, it's important to use nitrogen in moderation, as excessive amounts can actually harm citrus trees and lead to problems such as leaf burn and reduced fruit quality.

How do DCT Products help with drainage?

Our organic compounds are the soil's BFFs! Adding them to the mix is like giving your garden a VIP experience. These little gems are the secret to better soil quality, jazzing up permeability, aeration, and water storage, while also beefing up the overall structure. Plus, they have these cool chelating powers that grab onto metal ions and nutrients in the soil, keeping things loose and fluffy. Say goodbye to compacted, clay-heavy soils that never drain properly! And if that wasn't enough, these rockstar compounds are like soil particle matchmakers, creating clusters that give air and water plenty of room to circulate, keeping your plants chirpy all season long.

I have a rose bush that has developed rose rust.

I'm wondering if I could use a weak solution of lazerhume sprayed on the foliage? As well as some for the soil?

Yes, it is generally safe to spray Lazerhume on Rose foliage, However its best at a cooler time of the day and it's a good idea to test on a small area first to ensure there is no adverse reaction.

We would recommend that you apply Lazerhume to the soil as well, Lazerhume can improve soil health and plant nutrition by enhancing nutrient uptake and stimulating beneficial microbial activity.

While Lazerhume is not a fungicide, it may indirectly support the plant's health and resilience against diseases like Rose rust by improving the plant's overall vigour.

To directly combat Rose rust, you could use fungicides specifically designed to target fungal infections, this is not something we sell but your local garden shop should be able to help.

Additionally, practices such as removing and disposing of infected leaves, ensuring good air circulation, and avoiding overhead watering can help manage and prevent the spread of the disease.
